Buick Safety Recall Campaigns
When a safety recall campaign is opened for a vehicle, it means that the
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has investigated claims of excessive risk. Buick works with the
NHTSA to research and confirm reports of excessive risk; when an undue risk is found, together they formulate a corrective action plan that targets specific vehicles for corrective maintenance that limits that risk and optimizes the vehicle’s risk profile. If the Buick Envision is included in a safety recall campaign, you will receive a letter in the mail outlining the problem and how to receive free corrective service at a certified
Buick service department.
How to know if your Buick Envision has a Safety Recall Open
When Buick opens a safety recall, it is required that Buick notifies all Encore owners included in the recall campaign by sending a notification letter to the last-known address. Over 90% of our customers find out by receiving this letter in the mail, but there are other options to find out, such as searching the
NHTSA’s and
Buick’s safety recalls websites using the
vehicle identification number (VIN). If you still aren’t sure, our customers can always give us a call and one of our advisors will be able to find out.
